Consumo de álcool por estudantes da área da saúde: uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura

Resumo

Objetivo: O estudo objetiva avaliar, por meio de uma revisão de literatura, o consumo de álcool por estudantes da área da saúde, tendo em vista o importante papel desses futuros profissionais como promotores da saúde e bem-estar da população. Fontes dos dados: Foi realizada a busca de dados nas seguintes fontes: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO); Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System On-line (MEDLINE); US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed); e Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Foram incluídos artigos datados dos últimos cinco anos, que avaliavam o consumo de álcool entre os acadêmicos da área da saúde, identificavam os determinantes para esse consumo ou que estudavam a percepção dos acadêmicos frente ao uso abusivo de álcool, resultando em 17 artigos para análise. Síntese dos dados: Os principais resultados evidenciam que o consumo de álcool por estudantes da área da saúde é maior entre homens, as festas da faculdade são os ambientes mais propícios para o uso das bebidas alcóolicas e morar sozinho foi identificado como o principal fator de risco. Conclusões: Percebe-se que, no âmbito universitário, esses acadêmicos estão mais expostos a fatores de risco para o início do consumo de bebidas alcóolicas, por isso a importância de promover a ampla discussão sobre a abordagem do uso de álcool e suas consequências nos cursos da área da saúde.

Objective: The study aims to evaluate, through a literature review, the consumption of alcohol by students from the health area, in view of the important role of this future professionals as health and welfare promoters of population. Sources of data: The data search was conducted in the following sources: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO); Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System On-line (MEDLINE); US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed); e Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Articles of the last five years were included, which evaluated the alcohol consumption among academics of health, that identified the determinants for this consumption or that studied the perception of academics against the abuse of alcohol, this resulted in 17 articles for analysis. Summary of the findings: The main results show that the consumption of alcohol by students of health is higher among men, the college parties are the most favorable places for the use of alcohol and living alone was identified as the main risk factor. Conclusions: It is noticed that, at the university, these students are more exposed to risk factors for the beginning of consumption of alcohol, so the importance of promoting the broad discussion about the approach of the use of alcohol and its consequences in the health area courses.
