ABORDAGEM FARMACOLÓGICA EM PACIENTES GESTANTES NA ODONTOLOGIA: REVISÃO DOS CONCEITOS ATUAIS

A gravidez é um processo que envolve mudanças fisiológicas e psicológicas complexas que trazem modificações para o organismo afetando a saúde da mulher. O conhecimento científico atual demonstra que qualquer tratamento odontológico pode ser realizado durante a gestação. Ter um distúrbio crônico é o mais forte preditor do uso de medicamentos potencialmente perigosos durante a gravidez. Entretanto, o atendimento supõe de pré-requisitos para que sejam selecionados os agentes mais seguros, limitando a duração do tratamento e minimizando dosagens, sendo fundamental para que ocorra uma terapia segura. O objetivo deste estudo é abordar as possíveis mudanças psico-fisiológicas e interações farmacológicas que ocorrem durante a gravidez, correlacionando com o atendimento odontológico. As mulheres com um distúrbio crônico têm mais chances de usar medicamentos potencialmente arriscados em comparação com mulheres que não apresentam essa condição. O aconselhamento pré-natal é importante para garantir o uso seguro de medicamentos tanto para a mãe quanto para a criança. É de fundamental importância o conhecimento aprofundado do profissional cirurgião-dentista da saúde associado aos diferentes tipos de risco associados ao uso de fármacos durante o período gestacional para, assim, realizar o correto manejo medicamentoso em tais pacientes.
