CALIBRE, Revista Brasiliense de Engenharia e Física Aplicada, é uma publicação trimestral de acesso aberto do Centro Universitário ICESP, sem fins lucrativos, cujo objetivo é unir e integrar a diversidade intelectual, metodológica e substantiva da engenharia e da pesquisa física interdisciplinar, estimulando diálogo constante e produtivo entre estudiosos teóricos e profissionais experimentalistas. São bem-vindas contribuições que promovam o intercâmbio de idéias entre educadores e pesquisadores, sendo aceitos artigos escritos em português, inglês, francês e espanhol, editados em Microsoft Word ou Latex (preferivelmente neste último). Professores são encorajados a orientar trabalhos de iniciação científica e de extensão, preparando-os para publicação em parceria com seus alunos. Não há cobrança de taxas de publicação. A revista Calibre oferece um meio para divulgação de estudos teóricos, análises e resultados experimentais relacionados (mas não restritos) a áreas tecnológicas como engenharia civil, engenharia ambiental, engenharia de produção, engenharia de software, engenharia de sistemas termodinâmicos, engenharia de controle, engenharia biomédica, arquitetura, engenharia mecânica, além de pesquisas científicas em acústica, ótica, eletromagnetismo, termodinâmica, físico-química, supercondutividade, geofísica, biofísica, mecânica quântica, astrofísica e demais disciplinas da física.
O processo de revisão por pares (duplo-cego) é totalmente isento de manifestações subjetivas por parte dos revisores, estando fundamentado nos seguintes itens de análise:
1) Aderência do tema ao periódico;
2) Sequência lógica da explanação;
3) Clareza e adequação idiomática;
4) Desenvoltura da argumentação;
5) Coerência semasiológica do formalismo abstrato, quando existente;
6) Formatação de acordo com as opções oferecidas.
A apreciação final do Editor Chefe tem por principal objetivo garantir que o processo de revisão tenha ocorrido sem prevalência de opiniões pessoais com respeito às idéias defendidas pelos autores.
A partir de cada edição, no melhor espírito da democratização da ciência, a CALIBRE oferece automaticamente sugestões de leitura complementar de acordo com o flagship do número da revista por meio de uma máquina de busca inteligente atuando com o Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE).

CALIBRE, Braziliense Journal of Engineering and Applied Physics, is an open access nonprofit quarterly publication of Centro Universitário ICESP and aims to bridge and integrate the intellectual, methodological and remarkable diverseness of engineering and cross-disciplinary physics scholarship, encouraging a constant and productive dialogue between theoretical scholars and experimentalists. Contributions which promote the exchange of ideas between practicing educators and researchers are welcomed, being accepted articles written in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish, in Microsoft Word or Latex (preferably the latter). Professors are encouraged to guide scientific initiation and extension works, preparing them for publication in partnership with their scholars. There are no publication fees. This journal provides a medium for dissemination of theoretical and experimental studies and reviews related to (but not restricted to) technological areas such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, production engineering, software engineering, thermal systems engineering, control engineering, biomedical engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering, as well as scientific researches in acoustics, optics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, superconductivity, geophysics, biophysics, quantum mechanics, astrophysics, and so on.
The review process (double blind peer review) is totally free from subjective manifestations on the part of reviewers, being based on the following items of analysis:
1) Adherence of the theme to the journal;
2) Clarity and idiomatic adequacy;
3) Resourcefulness of the argumentation;
4) Logical sequence of explanation;
5) Semasiological coherence of abstract formalism, when existing;
6) Formatting according to the options offered.
The final examination of the Editor-in-Chief has the main objective of ensuring that the review process has taken place without the prevalence of personal opinions regarding the ideas defended by the authors.
From the "SUMÁRIO" of each edition, in the best spirit of the democratization of science, CALIBRE automatically offers suggestions for further reading according to the domain of interest of the researcher through an intelligent quest machine acting with the Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE).
