AVALIAÇÃO DA EFICÁCIA DO TRATAMENTO ORTODÔNTICO COM ALINHADORES TRANSPARENTES DE ACORDO COM O OGS (OBJECTIVE GRADIN SYSTEM) DO AMERICAN BOARD OF ORTHODONTICS (ABO): ESTUDO DE COORTE PROSPECTIVO

Resumo


O objetivo desse estudo de coorte prospectivo foi avaliar a eficácia do tratamento ortodôntico com alinhadores ClearCorrect de acordo com OGS (Objective Grading System) do American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) e se há relação entre a complexidade inicial com a qualidade de finalização. Método: Foram avaliados 46 pacientes adultos que trataram ambos os arcos com alinhadores ClearCorrect e que não utilizaram mecânicas acessórias. O Índice de Discrepância (ID) do ABO foi utilizado para avaliar a complexidade inicial dos casos, sendo 15 pacientes do grupo leve, 22 moderados 9 complexos. O OGS avaliou a qualidade de finalização. Resultados: A maioria dos pacientes eram Classe I (76,09%). A média de pontuação para o ID foi 11,65 e para o OGS foi de 11,22. Contatos interproximais e alinhamento anterior foram os critérios que obtiveram maior porcentagem de casos com pontuação zero para o OGS (97,83 e 84,78% respectivamente). A altura da crista marginal, inclinação vestíbulo-lingual mandibular e angulação radicular foram os critérios que obtiveram maior pontuação para OGS, apenas 36,96%, 30,43% e 15,22% obtiveram pontuação zero, respectivamente. Conclusões: Os alinhadores ortodônticos da ClearCorrect são capazes de finalizar adequadamente os casos simples, moderados e complexos, independente dos pacientes terem utilizado aparelho ortodônticos previamente ou não, sendo menos eficazes em corrigir a altura da crista marginal e a angulação radicular. O único critério do OGS que teve diferença estatisticamente relevante, em relação a complexidade, foi a inclinação vestíbulo-lingual mandibular.
